Poet, essayist, and teacher Alison Pelegrin is the author of two poetry collections from the University of Akron Press: Hurricane Party (2011) and Big Muddy River of Stars (2007), which won the Akron Poetry Prize, as well as The Zydeco Tablets (Word Press, 2002), and three chapbooks. Individual poems have appeared in Poetry, Ploughshares, The Southern Review, Shenandoah, Poetry Daily and The Writer’s Almanac. She earned an MFA from the University of Arkansas, and is the recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Louisiana Division of the Arts. A resident of the New Orleans area for most of her life, she currently resides in Covington, Louisiana with her family.

Debra Monroe is the author of four books of fiction, The Source of Trouble (1990), A Wild, Cold State (1995), Newfangled(1998), and Shambles (2004); and one memoir, On the Outskirts of Normal: Forging a Family Against the Grain(2010). Her books have won many awards, including the Flannery O’Connor Award, the John Gardner Fellowship, The Violet Crown Award, the Quarterly West Novella Competition, and more. She was born in North Dakota and raised in Wisconsin. She has since lived in Kansas, Utah, North Carolina, and Texas, where she lives now, and she teaches in the MFA program at Texas State University.
The public is invited.

Barbara H. Wyman, (M.A., M.F.A., '97) teaches English and Latin at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Besides Boethius, she has published writings on George Herbert, Hopkins, and others, notably "Boethian Influence and Imagery in the Poetry of George Herbert." Studies in Philology 97 (2000): 61-95.
